Charlie Hebdo – The Importance of Free Speech

The importance of free speech - charlie hebdo

Today I was going to publish a funny post about Life in London. The terrible terrorist attack in Paris at Charlie Hebdo has however made me reconsider this. I just don’t believe it would be appropriate to make jokes, right at this moment.
It is always a sad day, when people get shot for voicing an opinion. As bloggers we do this on a regular basis. You might approve or disapprove with what was said/drawn, but these journalists never harmed anyone. Their sole weapon was a pen and paper.

My thoughts go out to the victims of the Charlie Hebdo Terrorist Attack and their family.

I am proud of the solidarity that was shown today by fellow Cartoonist and people worldwide. Today I am proud to be french. Let’s never let anyone steal our Freedom of Speech.

    Nice piece.

I still have no words for this. The pictures and news pieces showing solidarity do show hope
